WB provided mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design services for the decentralization of the existing steam boiler plant serving the apartment buildings in the Chad Brown and Admiral Terrace Housing Developments. WB’s design was a part of an overall energy conservation measure. Local hot water high efficiency condensing boiler plants were designed for nine of the buildings with underground distribution to 39 buildings. The design for the distribution consisted of new underground hot water pipes with new gas services to each hot water plant. Two of the buildings were converted from steam heat to hot water.
