WB worked with the New York City Department Parks & Recreation to design a new 5,000 sq. ft. office and storage facility at the Queensbridge Park in New York, NY. The goal of the project was to create a central facility to house the citywide horticultural programs sponsored by the Parks & Recreation.
The MEP/FP systems selected for the space took into account both the architectural goals as well as the budgetary parameters established by the client. We designed a stand alone split air cooled HVAC system, with a condenser on the roof. Exhaust fans circulate the air, and the space is warmed with electric heaters. In the office space, the AC unit is controlled by a time clock, while in the storage space it is controlled by a thermostat. The plumbing system is a storm draining system.
