Grace Building - 1114 Avenue of the Americas, NY, NY
When Brookfield Properties purchased this midtown Manhattan building, WB was hired to assess the existing cooling tower and design a new cooling tower that would meet the goals of the new owner. The existing system was comprised of two towers serving separate risers. WB determined that in addition to being in poor condition, the tenant condenser water system was being used at its maximum capacity of only 500 tons.
WB designed two new cooling towers with double the capacity of the existing, and a chemical treatment system. WB's design also met Brookfield Properties' goal of transferring some of the tenant condenser water load being served from the base building cooling towers over to the new tenant system.
