WB collaborated with the Watertown Housing Authority on Energy Conservation Measures at the Lexington Gardens, McSherry Gardens, and Willow Park housing developments.
At the Lexington Gardens housing development, the project consisted of the decentralization of a central hot water plant and distribution of space heating and domestic hot water for twenty-five buildings. The inefficient central plant was decommissioned and new high efficiency condensing boilers were installed in each of the twenty-five buildings. The new boiler system provided localized space heating hot water and domestic hot water through instantaneous indirect hot water heaters for each building. The existing domestic and space heating distribution piping throughout each individual building was reused.
At the McSherry Gardens and Willow Park housing developments, the existing boiler and domestic hot water systems were replaced for four and five buildings respectively. The existing inefficient gas fired boilers were replaced with new high efficiency condensing boilers providing space heating hot water through the existing building distribution piping. New instantaneous indirect hot water heaters provide domestic hot water to the existing piping distribution within the building.
